Job summary

City of Deerfield Beach is seeking an IT Infrastructure Specialist to manage a broad range of systems including Linux/Windows servers, virtualization, and Azure cloud. The role covers backup, disaster recovery, security updates, and ongoing monitoring.

You will lead IT projects, coordinate with vendors, and provide after-hours support for infrastructure emergencies and city meetings. A strong knowledge of networks, VOIP, and storage is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 4+ years of related IT experience.
• Associate degree and 2+ years of related experience.
• Experience with physical and virtual servers, Tier 2 troubleshooting, Windows, Linux, desktops, remote access, VPN, and applications.

Responsibilities

• Maintains data center environmental and monitoring equipment.
• Provision or restrict access to resources across technologies.
• Maintains, monitors, and troubleshoots Linux, Windows, and Azure cloud infrastructures.
• Tier 2 support, backup monitoring, network troubleshooting, patching, deployments, and server administration.
• Monitors SAN, IT operations, and storage utilization.
• Monitors firewall and VPN administration.
• Lead projects, plan risk assessments and contingencies, IT project management.
• Researches security vulnerabilities and runs security updates and audits.
