Job summary

The University of Chicago’s MANIAC Lab seeks a Cyberinfrastructure Engineer to operate storage, compute and GPU infrastructure in campus data centers, connecting researchers to national-scale fabric and AI platforms.

You will work hands-on with Linux systems, Kubernetes, Ceph (via Rook) and Puppet, with Prometheus/Grafana monitoring, GitOps workflows, and on-site hardware support; collaborate with a distributed team and take ownership of operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent in a technical field.
• Experience administering Linux-based infrastructures.
• Familiarity with cloud-native and storage technologies.
