Job summary

Assured Information Security (AIS) in Rome, NY, seeks a Software Engineer II focused on CyberAI. You will support engineering platforms and microservices powering DoD customer applications. This is a hybrid role with three onsite days weekly and requires an active TS/SCI.

The position emphasizes Python backend services, JavaScript frontend work, CNO development, and secure software practices. Strong analysis and debugging skills, plus experience with containerized environments, are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field and 2 years of relevant professional experience.
• 2 years of professional software development experience with Python, C/C++ and or Rust.
• Experience with developing Python-based backend applications, services, and APIs.
• Experience with building JavaScript/TypeScript frontend applications and web-based user interfaces.
• Software static and dynamic analysis and vulnerability assessment.
• Unit testing and automated software testing practices.
• Atlassian tools: Jira, Confluence, Crucible.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, document, test, debug, and maintain software applications.
• Develop backend services and APIs using Python.
• Develop modern web-based user interfaces using JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Design and develop software to support CNO capabilities.
• Apply knowledge of software security concepts, networking, and system architecture.
• Experience in software static and dynamic analysis to identify vulnerabilities.
• Knowledge in debugging applications and low-level software.
• Set up, configure, and use virtualized infrastructure for development and testing.
• Collaborate with engineers to develop, test, and integrate software and CNO capabilities.
