Job summary

Assured Information Security (AIS) is seeking a Software Engineer focused on Computer Network Operations (CNO) to support CyberAI across multiple DoD customers. Hybrid role with 3 onsite days per week.

You will design and build backend services in Python, craft modern frontend UIs in JavaScript/TypeScript, and apply secure software development practices while collaborating with engineers to advance CNO capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 2 years of professional experience.
• 2 years of professional software development experience with Python, C/C++ and/or Rust.
• Experience with Python-based backend applications, services, and APIs; frontend with JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Crucible.
• Familiarity with modern web app architectures, REST APIs, and client-server communication.
• Software debugging and troubleshooting; strong software analysis and reverse engineering basics.
• Familiarity with secure software development practices and vulnerability assessment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, document, test, debug, and maintain software applications.
• Develop backend services and APIs using Python, including application logic and data processing.
• Develop modern web-based user interfaces using JavaScript/TypeScript and frontend frameworks.
• Design and develop software to support CNO capabilities.
• Apply knowledge of security concepts, networking, and system architecture to software development.
• Perform static and dynamic analysis to identify vulnerabilities and weaknesses.
• Debug applications and low-level software using appropriate tools.
• Set up and use virtualized infrastructure for development, testing, and debugging.
• Collaborate with engineers to develop, test, and integrate software and CNO capabilities.
