Job summary

The Hartford is seeking a Claims Consultant for its Cyber and Technology team in a hybrid/remote setup. The role involves handling a caseload of first and third party Cyber and Technology claims from inception to resolution, including litigated matters and coordination with defense counsel.

Responsibilities include investigations, determining coverage and damages, managing cyber incident responses, and presenting cases to leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Juris Doctorate degree preferred.
• Minimum of three years handling litigated coverage and/or liability cases in Cyber & Technology, Privacy and Data Breaches, Media Liability and Professional Liability.

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigations and analyze information learned.
• Analyze coverage, liability and damages based on facts.
• Investigate cyber incidents, determine cause, and coordinate response with customers, law firms, and vendors.
• Respond quickly to active cyber incidents and urgent customer needs.
• Present cases to management for reserve authority.
• Develop and implement resolution strategies through negotiations.
• Manage litigation and counsel, including budgeting and bill review.
• Attend trials and mediations as necessary.
• Prepare reports and deliver presentations to senior claim leadership.
• Provide training and marketing support to Underwriters.
