Job summary

Capital One seeks a Manager, Cyber Security – Information Security Office Consultant to lead cybersecurity governance and risk transformation across the Card line of business. You will engage with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to integrate security into development, review architectures, and provide clear risk guidance.

The role requires hands-on security expertise, strong communication skills for executive updates, and the ability to translate complex findings into actionable

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 5+ years in cybersecurity or IT.
• 5+ years evaluating or supporting cybersecurity capabilities.
• 5+ years performing security risk assessments and architecture reviews.
• 5+ years experience with architecture, software design, networking, or cloud infrastructure.
• 4+ years experience with cloud security engineering.
• 1+ year experience implementing AI in cybersecurity.

Responsibilities

• Act as Information Security point of contact for a Card line function.
• Coordinate proactive Information Security consulting with business and tech teams.
• Review architecture and provide risk mitigation solutions.
• Drive risk management and governance across Capital One.
• Partner with engineers and product managers to reduce complexity.
• Influence teams to shift security left in development processes.
• Escalate and manage cybersecurity risk.
• Provide ad hoc information security support on topics.
• Report security health and risk to line-of-business leadership.
