Overview

GBSI is seeking an Information Technology (IT) professional for the role of Cyber Security Project Manager in Landover, MD. The Cyber Security Project Manager will ensure timely and efficient project delivery while identifying opportunities for optimization and cost efficiency.

Responsibilities

1. Responsible for the coordination and supervision of a specific technical project or function.
2. Coordinates with design engineers to ensure service design activities (e.g., hardware and software integration) are fully implemented as part of the project lifecycle.
3. Ensures all activities are carried out in accordance with project commitments or specific objectives.
4. Manages project risks, including those associated with large-scale IT changes, and ensures smooth integration of new services and infrastructure into the environment.
5. Responsible for day-to-day management, coordination, and administration of tasks by ensuring quality and productivity standards are maintained while meeting client schedules.
6. Identifies opportunities for optimizing IT resources, improving system performance, and reducing costs through more efficient utilization of existing assets.
7. Works with the program manager and/or client to prepare work schedules and man-hour estimates.
8. Provides written management or program plans, maintenance and operations instructions, task status analysis, cost reports, and other related documents.
9. Ensures all administrative tools are effectively used to control and accomplish project tasks and may provide operations security protection for all sensitive/critical information.
10. Assists with writing manuals and other documentation.
11. Responsible for status and task management reports for the area of responsibility.

Qualifications

1. LEVEL IV: Bachelor's degree in a related field, with 8 to 10 years’ experience; or Master's degree with 6 to 8 years’ experience; or PhD with 3 to 5 years’ experience.
2. Must have a current DoD 8570.1-M IAT Level III (e.g., CISSP, GCIH, or GCIA) certification at start.
3. Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance with SCI eligibility at start.
4. Project management experience should be IT related; PMP Certification is highly desired.
5. Technical and narrative writing experience is highly desired.
6. Supervisory or management experience is required.
7. Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies is a plus.
8. ITIL v4 Foundations certification is highly desired.
