The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) is seeking a Project Manager to oversee the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) within a scientific environment. Responsibilities include defining technical and functional requirements, quality control planning, implementation, upgrades, and integration with existing NCBI systems using Agile methodologies. The role involves daily coordination of complex projects dealing with scientific and genomic data, providing technical and administrative expertise, tracking milestones, producing deliverables, managing risks, schedules, resources, and coordinating cross-functional teams. The Project Manager will advise senior management on technical issues and communicate project status to stakeholders.
NCBI, part of the National Library of Medicine (NLM) at NIH, is a premier biomedical research center serving over six million daily users. It develops and delivers applications such as PubMed, supporting extensive biomedical research and public health initiatives. The environment includes diverse platforms (Python, Django, C++, etc.), large data sets, machine learning, and cloud services.
This is a full-time, currently remote position with potential on-site work in Bethesda, Maryland.
Salary range: $110,000 - $160,000 annually, based on experience. Benefits include health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401(k) with matching, paid leave, holidays, a 40-hour work week, and a collaborative professional environment.
