Job summary

BWX Technologies, Inc., a U.S.-based Fortune 1000 company, seeks a Cyber Security Intern for on-site support at our Lynchburg, VA facility. You will assist with help desk work orders, document cyber security processes, and perform basic information security tasks under supervision.

Applicants should be enrolled in IT coursework with a strong interest in computer-based information systems. Must be willing to work summers 2027 and be a U.S.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with current enrollment and completed college coursework in Information Technology.
• Awareness of PC hardware components, desktop OS software, application software and some network troubleshooting.
• Experience or education related to risk assessments, security plans, and Standard Security Configuration Guides.

Responsibilities

• Assists with work related to queued work orders received and assigned by the help desk.
• Assists with creation of cyber security-related process and procedure documentation.
• Performs basic information security related tasks under supervision of cyber engineers.
• Supports other local IT staff with various projects as needed.
