Job summary

Northern Trust seeks a senior security platform leader to guide and develop an enterprise security engineering team. You will shape technical direction for zero-trust, SASE/SSE, and cloud security, while driving measurable risk reduction and alignment with regulatory expectations.

We value deep vulnerability management expertise and strong executive communication to brief stakeholders and audit bodies. This role requires extensive leadership in a regulated financial services environment.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in information technology, cybersecurity, cloud, infrastructure, network security or platform engineering.
• 5+ years of demonstrated leadership of enterprise-scale security teams or major security engineering programs.
• Proven people leadership capability: setting direction, developing talent, assigning work, managing priorities, coaching senior engineers and creating accountability for delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead security platform engineering teams across the enterprise and coordinate cross-functional initiatives.
• Set technical and operational direction for security tools spanning zero-trust, SASE/SSE, network security, vulnerability and exposure management, AI guardrails, and SaaS.
• Define team goals, maturity models and metrics to measure delivery, assurance, compliance and risk reduction.
