Job summary

Avertium is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to join its Managed Security Services team. You will support customers globally through research, troubleshooting, and resolution of security-tool related issues in Azure, AWS, and on-prem environments.

Responsibilities include guiding clients to enhance security postures, monitoring service health, and leveraging SIEM tools for investigations while staying current on testing tools and incident response practices.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of security engineering experience.
• Experience with security tool application, server, and networking support.
• Experience troubleshooting in Windows and Linux environments.
• Automation or scripting using Regex and PowerShell.
• Experience with KQL, Prometheus and Grafana.
• Microsoft Certifications (AZ500, MS500, SC200, SC100) preferred.
• Familiar with MITRE ATT&CK and TTPs.
• Ability to document architectures and internal processes.
• Cloud fundamentals for AWS and Azure.
• Strong networking knowledge.
• Experience with ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems.
• Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
• Ability to provide step-by-step technical assistance via phone, remote session, and email.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and recommendations to clients to improve security posture.
• Monitor services health and proactively address issues.
• Use SIEM and tools to investigate network activity and security events.
• Perform post-mortem analysis on logs and traffic flows to identify threats.
• Research and implement improvements for security tooling and incident response.
• Collaborate with clients on planning, implementation, and knowledge transfer.
