Job description

Our client is looking for a hands-on Cybersecurity Engineer to join their growing technology team. This individual will help secure internal and client technology environments, with a focus on network security, threat detection, vulnerability management, incident response and security best practices.

The ideal candidate will have approximately 5+ years of cybersecurity or network security experience and be comfortable working across multiple technologies and client environments. Experience within hospitality, managed services or other multi-site environments is a plus but not required.

The position will also have exposure to emerging technologies, including AI-driven security tools and automation. Deep AI development experience is not required.

Primary Responsibilities

• Monitor, investigate and respond to cybersecurity threats and incidents.
• Configure and support firewalls, VPNs, network segmentation and other network security technologies.
• Support vulnerability management, security assessments and remediation activities.
• Work with SIEM, endpoint security and threat-detection technologies.
• Assist with incident response, root-cause analysis and remediation.
• Help secure network environments including wired/wireless networks, remote connectivity and multi-site infrastructure.
• Support security policies and best practices based on frameworks such as NIST.
• Assist with security requirements related to client environments and third-party vendors.
• Work closely with network, infrastructure and support teams to identify and remediate security risks.
• Use scripting, automation and emerging AI-enabled technologies where appropriate to improve security operations.
• Maintain documentation of security procedures, configurations and incidents.
• Stay current with cybersecurity threats, technologies and industry best practices.

Qualifications

• Approximately 5+ years of cybersecurity, network security, SOC or related infrastructure/security experience.
• Hands-on experience with firewalls such as Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco or similar technologies.
• Experience with SIEM, EDR, vulnerability management and/or security monitoring tools.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, routing, firewalls and network segmentation.
• Experience investigating and responding to security alerts and incidents.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST and security/compliance standards.
• Experience with Windows/Linux environments and cloud technologies.
• Scripting or automation experience using Python, PowerShell, Bash or similar technologies is a plus.
• Exposure to AI-enabled security tools or security automation is a plus.
• Hospitality, MSP or multi-client experience is a plus.
• Relevant cybersecurity certifications such as Security+, CySA+, SSCP, CISSP or equivalent are a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication and problem-solving skills.
