Defibtech is seeking a Cyber Security Co-op to support cybersecurity applications and respond to cyber events at our Guilford, CT headquarters, with occasional travel to Branford and North Branford.

The role emphasizes hands-on maintenance of security tools, policy design for email and endpoints, and collaboration with teams to protect manufacturing environments while adhering to FDA and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Strong documentation skills and ability to translate requirements into designs.
• Experience with cybersecurity best practices and incident response concepts.
• Familiarity with manufacturing environment considerations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and monitors cybersecurity applications (Proofpoint, ESET Endpoint, Azure SPAM filtering, Halo, ThreatLocker, SonicWall).
• Monitors ESET Endpoint protection events and alerts; responds to threats and isolates issues.
• Maintains ESET EDR/XDR policies and exclusions to prevent false positives.
• Designs Proofpoint and Azure email threat and anti-spam policies and exceptions.
• Designs ThreatLocker policies; maintains a whitelist and configures user groups (R&D, Production).
• Monitors firewall logs, applies updates, and tracks vendor vulnerability alerts.
