Job summary

Truckee Meadows Community College in Reno, NV, seeks a part-time Cyber Range Coordinator to manage TMCC's cyber range, security, and ongoing improvements. The role leads the design, development, and facilitation of realistic cybersecurity exercises for students and industry partners.

The position also drives the range as a community resource, coordinating tabletop exercises with local businesses and public agencies, and aligning activities with national standards like NIST NICE and CISA

Qualifications

• Associate degree in cybersecurity, CS, IT or related field with 3 years in cybersecurity, systems or IT infra.
• Bachelor's degree with 1 year of related experience in lab environments is also acceptable.
• Equivalent mix of education, certifications and experience may satisfy requirements.
• Experience configuring/troubleshooting lab or simulated environments (VMware/Hyper‑V/Proxmox).
• Ability to design and deliver scenario-based training to technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Ability to pass a background check per NSHE/TMCC requirements.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain and improve TMCC's cyber range infrastructure and security.
• Develop, design and facilitate realistic cybersecurity exercises and tabletop simulations.
• Coordinate collaborative tabletop exercises with local businesses and public agencies.
• Benchmark curricula and ensure alignment with NIST NICE and CISA resources.
• Document range architecture, SOPs and access controls; maintain training repositories.
• Support lab instruction, capstone projects and student competition teams (CTF, cyber defense).
• Coordinate open lab sessions and range usage policies for curricular and community events.
