Job summary

CESI is seeking a highly motivated Cyber Range Engineer to design, implement, and maintain advanced cyber training environments for the PCTE-OG. The role demands hands-on work with Windows and Linux systems, virtualized infrastructure, and cyber tools to develop, deploy, and troubleshoot complex training scenarios.

The position is full-time on-site in Annapolis Junction, MD, with responsibilities spanning event planning, infrastructure configuration, and ongoing improvements in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or 6 years relevant experience.
• 5+ years of combined experience with CNO/CNE/CND platforms and cyber training.
• Current DoD 8140/8570 IAT Level II Certification.
• Relevant networking engineering certification.
• Relevant Cloud/VMware certification.
• Hands-on experience in Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Experience with VMware and virtualized environments.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity, DNS, routing, TCP/IP.
• Intermediate knowledge of defensive and offensive cyber tools.
• Self-starter in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective written and oral communication with leadership.
• Prioritize multiple tasks and demands.

Responsibilities

• Plan, build, and execute cybersecurity training within cyber range environments.
• Build and configure cyber range content (VMs, networks, tooling).
• Implement offensive/defensive training content with red cell tools and sensors.
• Provide event support: readiness checks, access support, troubleshooting.
• Configure Windows and Linux hosts, patching, baseline config, lab restore.
• Deliver virtual infrastructure and network support across enclaves.
• Coordinate with content developers and stakeholders to track tasks.
• Develop and update technical docs to enable repeatable events.
• Identify repeat issues and push for process or automation improvements.
