Job summary

Leidos is seeking motivated cybersecurity students for its Summer 2027 Internship Program as a Cybersecurity Analyst Intern on the GSM-O II contract at Ford Island, HI. You will work with seasoned SOC analysts, gaining hands-on experience defending DISN and supporting DISA in a real-world DoD security environment.

You will learn to triage alerts, analyze network traffic, review IOCs, and document incidents for leadership.

Qualifications

• Pursuing degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology.
• Knowledge of cyber defense concepts and DoD-related frameworks is a plus.
• Willingness to learn security operations in a DoD environment.

Responsibilities

• Triage and analyze security alerts from SIEM/IDS/IPS/NetFlow to identify malicious activity.
• Assist in network traffic analysis and correlate security events using packet data.
• Shadow incident response activities across containment, eradication, and recovery.
• Review open-source feeds to identify Indicators of Compromise (IOCs).
• Conduct preliminary analysis of potential incidents and review system logs for anomalies.
• Create concise technical documentation and incident reports for leadership.
