Job summary

Boston Government Services, LLC (BGS) is seeking a Cyber Security Analyst for our Evergreen Talent Pool. The role supports government clients and involves optimizing security controls, incident response planning, and threat detection in a distributed IT environment. The position may be remote, hybrid, or onsite depending on client need.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in a SOC/blue-team role, understand TCP/IP and common protocols, and are proficient with SIEM/EDR tools. A U.S.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years in a SOC or blue-team role.
• Strong grasp of TCP/IP, OSI model, and common protocols; Windows/Linux/macOS fundamentals.
• Experience with at least one SIEM and one EDR/XDR platform.
• Craft queries; comfort with regex, JSON and APIs; basic scripting in Python/PowerShell/Bash.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and pass a drug screening.
• Experience in government environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reset passwords and manage service accounts as needed.
• Review access requests and triage unusual activity or phishing reports.
• Evaluate endpoint security (EDR) deployment and monitor external attack surface.
• Lead investigations end-to-end with containment and remediation.
• Produce clear reports with timelines, root cause, and IOCs.
