Job summary

Thor seeks an experienced Commissioning (CX) Manager to lead end-to-end Electrical and Mechanical commissioning across large-scale data center construction projects in Texas. You will own both Electrical and Mechanical scopes, driving IST and handover, coordinating with construction, QA/QC, and client teams to ensure fully tested, functional systems.

You will oversee a wide commissioning lifecycle, manage plans and testing, coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, and deliver clear client-facing

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in commissioning, MEP construction, or mission critical environments.
• 3+ years of data center commissioning experience (hyperscale strongly preferred).
• Proven experience leading both electrical and mechanical commissioning scopes.
• Deep understanding of Level 1-5 commissioning and IST processes.
• Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings, sequences of operation, and specifications.
• Experience working for a General Contractor, Commissioning Agent, or Owner’s Rep.
• Strong leadership, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
• Willingness to travel across Texas projects as required.

Responsibilities

• Drive issue resolution, deficiency tracking, and closeout through turnover.
• Lead client witnessing, demonstrations, and sign-off processes.
• Work with QA/QC teams to ensure commissioning readiness.
• Provide regular reporting to project leadership and client stakeholders.
• Enforce safety, sequencing, and commissioning best practices.

This role will take ownership of both Electrical and Mechanical commissioning scopes, driving the process from early planning through Integrated Systems Testing (IST) and final handover. You will act as the key link between construction, QA/QC, and client teams, ensuring systems are not only installed correctly, but fully tested, functional, and operational.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the full commissioning lifecycle (Level 1-5) across electrical and mechanical systems
• Develop and manage the commissioning plan, schedule, and execution strategy
• Oversee pre-functional, functional, and integrated systems testing (IST)
• Coordinate all MEP subcontractors, vendors, and third-party commissioning agents
• Review and approve commissioning scripts, procedures, and test documentation

Key Systems Oversight

Electrical:

• MV/LV distribution, switchgear, transformers
• UPS systems, PDUs, RPPs, busway
• Generators and paralleling gear
• EPMS / SCADA integration

Mechanical:

• Chilled water systems (chillers, CRAH/CRAC units)
• Cooling towers and heat rejection systems
• Pumps, piping networks, and controls
• BMS integration and controls sequences

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in commissioning, MEP construction, or mission critical environments
• 3+ years of data center commissioning experience (hyperscale strongly preferred)

Preferred

• Experience on ground-up hyperscale data center builds
• Familiarity with commissioning platforms (CxAlloy, BIM 360, etc.)
• Electrical or Mechanical engineering background or trade experience
• Experience working directly with hyperscale clients (AWS, Google, Microsoft, etc.)
