Position Summary

The Family Wellness Specialist is responsible for conducting in-person wellness visits with sponsors and formerly Unaccompanied Alien Children (F/UAC) to verify safety, well-being, living arrangements, and compliance with program requirements. This position serves as the primary field representative responsible for documenting observations, verifying school enrollment, assessing potential safety concerns, collecting required information, and ensuring timely reporting in accordance with federal contract requirements.

The Family Wellness Specialist exercises sound judgment, maintains professionalism during sensitive interactions and accurately documents findings while protecting confidential information. As a Call When Needed (CWN) position, work is assigned based on contract and business needs; hours may vary and are not guaranteed. This position requires extensive local travel, strong communication skills, objective documentation, and the ability to work independently in the field. Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred.

Up to 90% contingent upon business needs. This position requires a high degree of travel and may include frequent, extended, and overnight assignments outside the employee’s state of residence throughout the Continental United States (CONUS). Employees should be prepared to remain at assigned locations for the duration of scheduled deployments or assignments.

Compensation

This pay band reflects Chloeta's good faith estimate of the range it expects to offer; Chloeta reserves the right to alter this range if business circumstances change.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct in-person wellness visits with formerly Unaccompanied Alien Children (F/UAC) and their sponsors to verify safety, well-being, and living arrangements.
• Assess, document, and report observations regarding the F/UAC's overall wellness, including identifying potential indicators of abuse, neglect, abandonment, trafficking, or other safety concerns.
• Immediately report suspected abuse, neglect, abandonment, or trafficking in accordance with contract requirements and established reporting protocols.
• Verify and document the identities and relationships of all individuals residing with the F/UAC.
• Confirm school enrollment and attendance for all school-aged F/UAC in accordance with applicable state requirements.
• Educate sponsors and F/UAC regarding release conditions, legal responsibilities, immigration court obligations, reporting requirements, and other program requirements.
• Verify the F/UAC's current residence, address, and compliance with program requirements.
• Collect, maintain, and update required case information and documentation within designated electronic systems, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely submission.
• Conduct follow-up visits when necessary to verify wellness or resolve outstanding concerns.
• Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive information and exercising sound professional judgment during all interactions.
• Communicate effectively with program leadership, government representatives, and other stakeholders regarding case status and required reporting.
• Maintain accurate records and complete all required reports in accordance with contractual timelines and quality standards.

Education and Experience

• Required: High School Diploma
• Required: Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in case management, investigative skills and/or law enforcement experience interviewing and dealing with a foreign-born population
• Required: Must be a US Citizen with ability to pass complete federal background check
• Preferred: Bilingual in English and Spanish
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Human Services or a related field.
• Preferred: Experience working with vulnerable populations.
• Preferred: Experience with federal, state, or local government contracts.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to drive extensively throughout an assigned geographic area.

Work Environment

Work is primarily performed in the field while visiting private residences, schools, and community locations. Employees may encounter emotionally sensitive situations and must maintain professionalism and composure during all interactions. Evening visits may be required to accommodate sponsor availability and contract requirements. Employees must maintain sufficient availability to accept and begin assignments within three (3) days of notification and must be able to perform assigned work between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. local time. Expected work hours may include weekdays, evenings, and weekends, depending on assignment requirements, participant availability, location, and business needs.

Pre-employment Requirements

Due to the nature of Chloeta’s services, this position is contingent upon completing with a satisfactory outcome of some or all of the following pre-employment background screenings: government security clearance, federal and state criminal background checks, drug test (urinalysis), Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review, educational history, employment history, and/or credit check. In accordance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), pre-background screenings will require the employee’s written authorization and will occur after acceptance of an offer of employment and prior to commencing work. Additionally, employees are required to complete the federal I-9/E-Verify process.
