Job summary

Chloeta is seeking a full-time Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) for a facility in Taos, New Mexico. The period of performance is 12 months with potential options to extend.

Responsibilities include diagnostic support, patient care, and clinic operations, with a Monday–Friday schedule. Candidates must hold a CMA credential (AAMA), BLS, and 12 months relevant experience; proficiency in MS Office, Adobe, and conferencing tools is required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of twelve (12) months relevant experience as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
  • Credentialed with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA).
  • Knowledge and experience in using Microsoft Office, Adobe and conferencing software.
  • High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

  • Performs diagnostic support duties: vital signs, documentation, specimens, meds, lab results.
  • Tour of Duty: Monday through Friday.
  • Set up medical equipment and assist physicians and registered nurses with procedures.
  • Support patient and family in implementing the care plan.
  • Document patient status in the electronic health record.
  • Plan patient care per nursing standards and prescribed plan.
  • Carry out nursing procedures per care plan.
  • Provide instructions to patient/family.
  • Rotate to support COVID/respiratory clinic operations.
  • Monitor COVID patients during isolation and contact during quarantine.

Compensation

Chloeta reserves the right to offer any candidate above or below the listed compensation amount based on experience or business needs.

  • Non-Exempt
  • $20-25 per hour.
Duties/Responsibilities
  • Performs a wide range of diagnostic support duties, which includes taking vital signs, documenting patient's pain perception, obtaining specimens, administering medications, receiving and recording lab results.
  • Tour of Duty: Monday through Friday.
  • Setting up medical equipment for procedures; and assisting physicians and registered nurses with procedures.
  • Supports patient and/or family in the integration of the patient plan of care toward changes to improve health.
  • Observes and documents pertinent information regarding patient status in the electronic health record.
  • Participates in planning patient care that is consistent with accepted nursing standards and in compliance with prescribed medical treatment plan.
  • Carriesout nursing procedures according to guidelines and a nursing plan of care.
  • Provides instructions to the patient and/or family of the patient.
  • Observes and abides by all Policies and Procedures, Bylaws, Rules, and Regulations of the Unit.
  • Rotates to provide support duties for the COVID/ respiratory clinic.
  • Conducts daily monitoring of patients with COVID-19 during self-isolation and contacts during self-quarantine for temperature, signs/symptoms. The monitoring methodology training will be provided.
  • Collects COVID specimen.
  • Supports COVID vaccine clinics.

  • Ensure all required documentation meets established Medical Facility, Joint Commission, and CMS standards to include, but are not limited to, timeliness, legibility, accuracy, content, date, time, and signature.
Education and Experience
  • Required: Minimum of twelve (12) months relevant experience as a Certified Medical Assistant with experience that includes work in a hospital, outpatient clinic, nursing home, or other supervised medical, nursing, or patient care facility that provided a practical knowledge of human body structure and sterile techniques.
  • Required: Credentialed with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA).
  • Required: Knowledge and experience in using Microsoft Office, Adobe and conferencing software.
  • Required: High school diploma or GED.
  • Required: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • License verification, education, and certifications must be provided at the time of application and can be emailed to certification@chloeta.com.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to stand and move for long periods of time.
  • Able to frequently lift at least 50 lbs., reach, pull, push, bend, stoop, and kneel.
  • At the time of hire, must provide documentation of evidence of immunizations as required by the facility's immunization policy.
  • This job operates in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, etc.
