Job summary

NOVA Engineering & Environmental is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to join our CMT & Special Inspections team in Kennesaw, Georgia. This role focuses on structural steel fabrication, welding inspections, and special inspections for commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects.

The successful candidate will perform field inspections, review welding procedures, and coordinate with engineers, contractors, fabricators, and project managers while maintaining safety and quality

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Engineering, construction management, or related technical education is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, welding symbols, and specifications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural steel and welding inspections per AWS, ICC, project specs, and codes.
• Inspect welded and bolted structural connections and verify fabrication activities.
• Review welding procedures, welder qualifications, and material certifications.
• Document findings and prepare detailed field reports using electronic systems.
• Communicate inspection results and corrective actions with contractors and stakeholders.
• Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and clients to support QA objectives.
• Maintain certification requirements and stay current with codes and inspection methods.
