Job summary

NOVA Engineering is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) based from our Charlotte or Raleigh, NC location to perform structural building inspections and QA/QC tests.

Responsibilities include inspecting to code, interpreting plans, performing field testing, and documenting results while communicating findings to contractors and engineers.

Qualifications

• Must hold AWS CWI certification with structural or bridge experience.
• NDT Level II Ultrasonic (UT) Shearwave is a plus.

• Review plans and specifications and perform inspections accordingly.

Job description

NOVA Engineering is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) based from our Charlotte or Raleigh, NC location. Primary duties include performing structural building inspections and QA/QC tests (masonry, reinforced concrete, structural steel, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Perform Inspections in accordance with code and project requirements
• Interpret project plans and specifications and ensure project requirements are being met.
• Activities will include performing field testing and inspections
• Review plans and specifications, performing the inspections accordingly
• Communicate results with contractors, engineers and others
• Input results and observations into daily reports

Requirements

• Current AWS CWI with Structural or Bridge Experience
• NDT Level II Ultrasonic (UT) Shearwave a plus
