Job summary

Thompson Pipe Group in Grand Prairie, TX is seeking a Welding, Coatings & Concrete QA Technician to ensure our pressure products meet the highest standards. You will read and apply the Quality Manual, maintain test reports, and coordinate with outside exam vendors for NDE/NDT activities.

In this role you will collect samples (weld coupons, concrete cylinders), perform in-process and final inspections with micrometers, calipers, and gauges, and document nonconformances.

Qualifications

• Read and apply the Quality Manual, repair procedures, codes, specifications, drawings, and SOPs.
• Proctor welder and welding-operator qualification testing and maintain thorough records and logs.
• Coordinate with outside exam vendors for NDE/NDT and oversee their work.

Responsibilities

• Read, interpret, and apply the Quality Manual, repair procedures, codes, specifications, drawings, and SOPs.
• Collect, prepare, process, and report material samples (weld coupons, concrete cylinders, cement-mortar lining).
• Proctor welder and welding-operator qualification testing and maintain logs.
