Job summary

Broward Health seeks a cardiovascular technologist to assist cardiologists in diagnostic and interventional procedures in the cardiovascular lab, including angioplasty with stenting. The role supports electrophysiology and monitors radiation safety for staff and patients while maintaining quality documentation.

The candidate will interpret hemodynamic and ECG data, correlate lab results and arrhythmias, and contribute to patient care during procedures and recordings.

Qualifications

• Graduate of approved Cardiovascular Program or Health Science (or Radiologic Paramedic/Surgical Tech).
• AT least one year related experience preferred.
• Eligible for ARRT certification; RCIS/RCES path may be pursued within two years.
• Licensed Paramedic or CST – Surgical Tech route may be acceptable with RCIS/RCES timeline.

Responsibilities

• Assist Cardiologist during diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular lab procedures such as angioplasty with stenting.
• Monitor radiation safety for physicians, patients and staff.
• Assist Electrophysiologist with related procedures.
• Interpret hemodynamic data, patient lab data, cardiac arrhythmias and ECG interpretations; document procedures to ensure quality care.

• Graduate of approved school of Cardiovascular Program or Health Science ( or a graduate from Radiologic Paramedic Surgical Technology)

• Cardiovascular Technology

• One Year related experience

• CVT CCT obtain RCIS or RCES Certification with 2 years of entry into cardiac vascular service department. Paramedic CST (Surgical Techs) will have additional year to obtain RCIS or RCES from the time they enter the cardiac vascular service line. ARRT are exempt from RCIS or RCES certification.

• ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ( ARRT are exempt from RCIS or RCES Certification requrements) Or
• CVT CCT - Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (Must obtain RCIS or RCES Certification within two (2) years of entry into Cardiac Vascular Service Department) Or
• Licensed Paramedic or CST - Surgical Technologist (Will have an additional year to obtain RCIS or RCES from the time they enter the Cardiac Vascular Service line)
• Basic Life Support (American Red Cross or American Heart Association)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (American Red Cross or American Heart Association)
