Job summary

Ascension is seeking a Surgical Technologist for Columbia St Mary’s Milwaukee in Milwaukee, WI. You will prepare the operating room, pass instruments to surgeons, and maintain instrument counts during procedures.

Full-time with rotating shifts in the Surgery department. Requires a High School diploma or equivalent with experience or an Associate's/Technical degree, and BLS within 30 days of hire. CVOR experience preferred.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days of hire date required (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted).
• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surgical operating suite with sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
• Hand required and requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery.
• Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitor counts throughout procedures.
• Assist surgeons with hemostasis during surgery.
