Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System in Gainesville seeks a certified surgical technologist to function in a scrub role under the direction of the Registered Nurse. You will assist in the Operating Rooms, prepare cases with proper instrumentation, and ensure sterile technique for patient safety across age groups.

Required is a high school diploma or certified equivalent, completion of a formal surgical technology program, and certification in Surgical Technology.

Qualifications

• Certification in Surgical Technology.
• High school graduate or certified equivalent; graduate of a formal surgical technology program.
• Certification in Surgical Technology is required.
• One year experience as scrub technician in an acute care setting; vascular/cardiovascular exposure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Functions in a scrub role in the Operating Rooms and assists with cases.
• Sets up cases with proper instrumentation and supplies.
• Follows hand asepsis and infection control practices.
• Maintains sterile field and performs accurate instrument counts.
• Prepares specimens and communicates with the RN circulator.
• Precepts new staff and supports department productivity.
• Monitors equipment and ensures patient safety during procedures.
