Responsibilities

• Functions as scrub person in the Operating Rooms.
• Sets up cases with proper instrumentation and supplies.
• Follows hospital hand asepsis policy.
• Demonstrates competency as a certified scrub technologist.
• Performs accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments with RN circulator.
• Maintains organized sterile field and correct tray handling.
• Prepares specimens and communicates with the RN.
• Monitors sterile field integrity and room equipment.
