Qualifications

• Requires one to two years of experience in a surgical technologist role.
• Must be registered with the State Regulatory Agency.
• Proficient to scrub on at least two surgical specialties.

Responsibilities

• Prepares surgical instruments and supplies.
• Anticipates the surgeon's needs during procedures.
• Maintains instrument counts and ensures sterility.
• Assists with OR turnover and cleaning.
• Participates in training of new staff and students.

Skills

Proficient in aseptic technique

Manual dexterity

Ability to work in high-pressure environments

Education

High school diploma/GED

Current basic life support certification

Certification as a surgical technologist
