Sign‑On Bonus

Eligible candidates for CVOR Surgical Technologist positions may receive a $10,000 sign‑on bonus. Details will be discussed during the interview process.

Shift Details

Employment Type: Full‑time.
Hours per Week: 40.
Shift: 6:00AM – 4:30PM (Monday‑Friday).
On Call: Yes – may require weekend and holiday rotations.
Flat rate $5 per hour for on‑call duty, $3 per hour for weekend differential, and an 18% differential for night shift when applicable.

Position Summary

The CVOR Surgical Technologist Coordinator supports the surgical department by preparing and managing surgical instruments and supplies, ensuring aseptic technique, and coordinating with surgical teams. The role combines technical responsibilities with leadership and administrative duties to maintain high standards of patient safety and workflow efficiency.

Core Functions
  • Prepares for surgical procedures by pulling appropriate instruments and supplies, ensuring all equipment is in working order, and reviewing case carts for accuracy.
  • Anticipates surgeon needs, passing instruments and retracting tissue during operations.
  • Maintains aseptic technique and universal precautions throughout procedures, disposing of sharps and trash, and placing used supplies into case carts for processing.
  • Participates in counting of sharps, instruments, and sponges, and prepares instruments for cleaning after each case.
  • Ensures that all surgeon preference cards and pick lists are accurate, evaluating quality and safety to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Assists with operating room turnover between cases, replenishing supplies, and cleaning rooms.
  • Provides business and administrative support to the department, including assigned administrative tasks.
  • Oversees clinical supply management, coordinates with stakeholders to develop clinical rationale for new products or equipment.
  • Facilitates educational and onboarding support for new surgical technologist hires, physicians, and students, and follows safety procedures related to medication labeling, specimen handling, sharps, time‑out, radiation, laser safety, and infection control.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED and current Basic Life Support certification.
  • Certification as a surgical technologist with one to two years of experience, or three to four years of experience in a surgical technologist role.
  • When applicable, registration with the state regulatory agency.
  • Manual dexterity and the ability to maintain focus and effectiveness during high‑volume surgical environments.
