Job summary

Talented Medical Solutions is seeking a Travel CVOR Surgical RN to join a cardiovascular operating room team for a 13-week travel assignment in Phoenix, AZ. As a Travel RN – CVOR Surgical, you’ll provide perioperative care in a high-acuity environment, collaborating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and OR staff to ensure safe, efficient patient care throughout the surgical experience.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the applicable state.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Cardiovascular/open-heart surgical experience preferred.
• Strong perioperative nursing and sterile technique knowledge.
• Ability to work in a high-acuity travel assignment.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized perioperative nursing care for cardiovascular and surgical patients.
• Prepare patients for cardiovascular surgical procedures.
• Assist with OR preparation, equipment, supplies, and instrumentation.
• Maintain sterile technique and infection-prevention standards.
• Collaborate with cardiovascular surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, surgical technologists, and other team members.
• Monitor patients closely and respond quickly to changes in clinical condition.
• Support patient positioning, surgical preparation, and intraoperative safety.
• Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to surgical protocols.
• Promote a safe and efficient operating room environment.
• Participate in preoperative and postoperative care as required.

Position: Travel RN – CVOR Surgical

Department: Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)

Hours: 40 Hours/Week

Schedule: Full-Time

Employment Type: Travel Contract

As a CVOR Surgical RN, you’ll be an essential member of the cardiovascular operating room team, helping ensure safe, efficient, and exceptional patient care throughout the surgical experience.

Key Responsibilities

Provide specialized perioperative nursing care for cardiovascular and surgical patients

Prepare patients for cardiovascular surgical procedures

Assist with OR preparation, equipment, supplies, and surgical instrumentation

Maintain strict sterile technique and infection-prevention standards

Collaborate closely with cardiovascular surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, surgical technologists, and other members of the surgical team

Monitor patients closely and respond quickly to changes in clinical condition

Support patient positioning, surgical preparation, and intraoperative safety

Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to surgical protocols

Promote a safe and efficient operating room environment

Participate in preoperative and postoperative care as required

What We’re Looking For

Active RN license in the applicable state

Current BLS, Acls certification

Cardiovascular and/or open-heart surgical experience strongly preferred

Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing practices and sterile technique

Excellent clinical judgment and critical-thinking skills

Ability to remain calm and focused in a high-acuity surgical environment

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Adaptability and willingness to work in a fast-paced travel assignment

Commitment to the full 13-week contract
