Job summary

Talented Medical Solutions seeks an experienced CVOR RN to join a high-performing Open Heart Surgery team for a 13-week travel contract. The role is 40 hours per week with 10-hour shifts, focused on perioperative cardiovascular care.

You will provide expert nursing care, prepare OR equipment, assist with positioning, maintain sterile technique, and collaborate with surgeons and the wider team to ensure patient safety from preop to postoperative stages.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the applicable state.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification.
• Recent CVOR/Open Heart Surgery experience.
• Strong knowledge of cardiovascular surgical procedures.
• Excellent critical-thinking and clinical assessment skills.
• Ability to stay calm in high-acuity surgical settings.
• Strong communication and teamwork to ensure patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing cardiovascular and open-heart surgical procedures.
• Prepare the operating room, equipment, supplies, and surgical instruments.
• Assist with patient positioning, surgical preparation, and intraoperative care.
• Maintain sterile technique and infection-prevention standards.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, and the surgical team.
• Monitor patient status and respond promptly to changes or emergencies.
• Document accurately and adhere to surgical protocols.
• Participate in preoperative and postoperative patient care as required.
• Promote patient safety throughout the surgical experience.
