Job summary

Overland Park Regional Medical Center is seeking a CVOR Surgical Technologist to join our perioperative team. This role focuses on scrub, monitor, and assisting with imaging systems in a fast-paced, hybrid operating environment.

Qualified candidates will have CST within one year, BLS certification, and at least seven years CVOR experience, including endovascular/hybrid procedures. A sign-on bonus is available for qualified applicants.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or an Associates Degree in a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
• CST certification required within one year of hire; BLS certification required.
• At least seven years CVOR and endovascular/hybrid OR experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepares setup and scrubs new technology procedures (TVAR, LVAD, Impella, Ablation devices, Transmyocardial laser, Cardio Assist devices, Endovascular cases).
• Understands Heart-Lung Machine function and cannulation.
• Assists physicians in surgical, diagnostic, and interventional procedures in surgical or hybrid environments.
• Assists with diagnostic angiography and interventions.
• Provides support and technical assistance with medical devices, imaging systems, and surgical equipment.
• Functions as scrub, monitor, and assist in imaging systems within a multidisciplinary hybrid team.
• Specializes in Endovascular and surgical concepts, including Minimally Invasive and hybrid methods.
• Call required; must live within 30 minutes of the facility.

What you will do in this role:

• Prepares setup and scrubs new technology procedures such as (TVAR) Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement, (LVAD) Left Ventricular Assist Device, Impella Implantation, Ablation Devices, Transmyocardio Laser, Cardio Assist Devices and Endovascular cases.
• Must have an understanding of the Heart Lung Machine and its function with the cardiovascular system in regard to cannulation of the patient.
• Assists physician in a variety of surgical, diagnostic, and interventional procedures being performed within a surgical or hybrid environment.
• Assists with diagnostic angiography and interventions.
• Provides support for and technical assistance with a variety of medical
• devices, imaging systems, and surgical equipment.
• Is a collaborative member of a multidiscipline hybrid team, who is expected to function in the roles of scrub, monitor, and assisting in the management of imaging systems.
• Specializes in both Endovascular and surgical concepts, which include Minimally Invasive approaches and progressive combined hybrid methods.
• Call required, must live within 30 minutes of the facility.

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate of an accredited educational program for Surgical Technologist or Associates Degree in related discipline or Work Experience in Lieu of degree
• Certified Surgical Technician (CST) required within one year of hire; Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification required
• At least seven years CVOR and endovascular/hybrid operating room experience
