Job summary

Novant Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist for the Cardiovascular Operating Room at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. This full-time role offers four 10-hour shifts (6:30 AM–5:00 PM) with some on-call and weekend call requirements; prior tech experience and vascular case exposure are highly preferred.

Education includes a high school diploma or GED and graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program.

Qualifications

Requires high school diploma or GED and completion of an accredited School of Surgical Technology program; military training equivalent (68D) considered.
Prior Surgical Technologist experience required; vascular cases experience strongly preferred.
May require certification; if not certified, must obtain within 12 months of hire; department-specific skill validation.
Strong customer service, communication, time management, and interpersonal skills are expected.

Responsibilities

Assist surgeons and nurses to facilitate safe cardiovascular and thoracic procedures.
Ensure the operating room is safe and equipment functions properly; maintain sterile technique.
Assist during open-heart, vascular, and thoracic surgeries by anticipating needs and passing instruments.
