Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology program or Military Training Equivalent (68D). Online Surgical Tech program credits will not be accepted.
• Demonstrates time management, customer service, and effective communication skills. For incumbents without accredited formal training, certification within 12 months may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgeon and registered nurse to facilitate safe invasive surgical procedures.
• Maintain a safe operating room environment and ensure equipment functions properly.
• Apply sterile and aseptic techniques and support the surgeon during procedures.
