Job summary

Banner Estrella Medical Center is seeking a CVOR Surgical Technologist to scrub on a minimum of two surgical specialties and assist in advanced cardiovascular procedures under high pressure in a fast-paced OR. You’ll work with surgeons and the RN team to pull, hand, and prepare instruments and supplies while maintaining strict aseptic technique.

Open Heart Surgery teams rely on trained technologists to support complex bypass, vascular, and heart-lung machine cases.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required. Must have surgical technologist certification.
• 1–2 years of experience as a surgical technologist, or 3–4 years in the role.
• Proficient to scrub on at least two surgical specialties.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for procedures by pulling instruments and supplies.
• Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments during procedures.
• Maintain aseptic technique and universal precautions; dispose of sharps and waste.
• Assist with OR turnover and stocking of supplies.
• Lead or participate in training of staff and students.
• Follow safety procedures for medication labeling and specimen handling.
