Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the CVOR department. This full-time day shift position at UAB St.

Vincent's Birmingham involves delivering professional nursing care in the operative setting for patients undergoing surgeries and other invasive procedures. You will perform both scrub and circulating functions, assist the operating physician with surgical tasks, and prepare rooms and instruments for use.

Qualifications

• Current license as a Registered Nurse (Alabama).
• Diploma from an accredited nursing program and licensure at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Deliver professional nursing care in the operative setting for surgical patients.
• Perform scrub functions: instrument and supply handling during procedures.
• Perform circulating functions: monitor and document patient condition; manage overall nursing care before, during, and after procedures.
• Assist operating physician with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing, and wound exposure; aid patient positioning.
• Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use.
