Job summary

Overland Park Regional Medical Center is seeking a CVOR Registered Nurse to join our surgical services team. This role focuses on preoperative assessment, patient preparation, and perioperative care in a fast-paced operating room environment.

Qualifications

• Prior Surgery experience preferred.
• Experience in circulating and scrubbing preferred.
• If new to the OR, 2 years of progressive acute care nursing experience preferred.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education about procedures and peri-operative process.
• Prepare patients including IV therapy, preoperative meds and surgical site verification.
• Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies with high-quality, patient-centered care.
• Collaborate with a dynamic inter-disciplinary team to support safe nursing care.
