Job summary

MemorialCare in Fountain Valley, CA seeks a Registered Nurse for the CVOR to direct and coordinate operating room nursing care in the Cardiac Surgery department. The role requires leadership, documentation, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and quality outcomes.

Responsibilities include teaching patients and families, delegating tasks, and participating in performance improvement activities.

Qualifications

• Current California RN License required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or higher preferred.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Card (BLS).
• Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Card (ACLS).
• 3 years of CVOR experience.
• Computer, internet, order entry and word processing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct unlicensed personnel and supervise activity.
• Assess patients, plan and evaluate nursing care.
• Coordinate patient care across Surgical Services.
• Document data accurately in the clinical information system.
• Teach patients and families about care plans.
• Promote quality and patient safety through performance improvement.
• Serve as role model and mentor new staff.
