Job summary

Mercy in St. Louis, MO is seeking an experienced registered nurse to provide direct patient care within our surgical and medical teams.

You will apply the Mercy Nursing Conceptual Framework and nursing process to coordinate care, protect patient rights, and maintain confidentiality while collaborating with multidisciplinary staff. This role requires a nursing degree (Associate's, Diploma, or BSN), an active RN license in Missouri or compact state, and at least six months of OR experience with

Qualifications

  • Graduated from a school of nursing (AD, Diploma, or BSN).
  • Current RN license in hiring state or compact licensure.
  • Six months OR experience; proficient in Level I requirements.
  • BLS certification or successful completion within 30 days of hire.
  • One or more unit-specific certifications may be required (ACLS/ALS, NRP, ENPC, TNCC, CPHON, OCN, PALS, PEARS, S.T.A.B.L.E., C-EFM).

Utilizes the Mercy Nursing Conceptual Framework and nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates the patient care with surgical team in collaboration with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Position Details:
  • Minimum Requirements:
    • Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
    • Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
    • Experience: Six months OR experience. Proficient in Level I requirements as defined per policy.
    • Certifications: Basic Life Support certification or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
    • One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department-required timeframe:
      • ACLS/ALS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
      • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
      • ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
      • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
      • CPHON (Certified Pediatric/Hematology/Oncology Nurses)
      • OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)
      • BLS (Basic Life Support)
      • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
      • PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
      • S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support) Six Assessment & Care Modules
      • C-EFM (Fetal Monitor Certification)
      • Other unit-specific certifications as required.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
    • Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
    • Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
