Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is hiring a PD RN for the Cardiovascular/Thoracic ICU in New Brunswick, NJ. The role requires an active NJ RN license, BLS, and 2 years in Critical Care, with BSN preferred and ACLS/CCRN as assets. Per diem night shifts run 7:00 p.m.

to 7:30 a.m. with weekend rotations, offering growth and teamwork in a high-acuity setting. The CVICU at RWJ University Hospital New Brunswick provides advanced cardiac, vascular, and thoracic care, including heart transplantation and support

Qualifications

• Current New Jersey RN license in good standing.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum 2 years RN experience in Cardiovascular/Thoracic ICU or Critical Care.
• BSN strongly preferred or to be completed within 5 years of hire.
• CCRN and ACLS certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and promptly recognize changes.
• Administer medications, treatments, and provide direct patient care.
• Collaborate with physicians and advanced providers for coordinated care decisions.
• Educate patients and families clearly and compassionately.
• Document accurately in the EMR to ensure continuity of care.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute to care planning.
• Support a collaborative team culture and pursue ongoing professional growth.
