Job summary

Medical City Denton is seeking a Registered Nurse for the CVICU to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced cardiac ICU. The RN will coordinate with physicians and the care team, perform procedures, document care, and educate patients and families on their condition and discharge plans.

Strong CVICU or ICU experience, active ACLS/BLS, and Texas RN licensure are required. This is a full-time night shift position with opportunities for growth and comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities

• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s).
• Documents administration of care in the patient medical record timely and thoroughly.
• Teaches patients and families about condition, treatment plan, medications and side effects.
• Translates medical terminology to support understanding.
• Educates on non-medicinal follow-up measures such as diet and exercise.
• Prepares patients for self-management and discharge.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary team to coordinate and deliver care.
