Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor in Taylor, TX seeks a CVD/Thin Films Engineer to join the process engineering team. You will lead process qualification, tool-to-tool output matching, and develop controls to sustain film health for ALD/PECVD processes.

You will collaborate with senior engineers, device physicists, and fab operations to scale thin film processes, qualify rework procedures, and drive improvements in yield and productivity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (Chemical, Electrical) or related field.
• GPA minimum 3.0.
• Fundamentals of SPC.
• Fundamentals of CVD chemistries and logic circuits.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Process qualification, performance, and abnormal product disposition.
• Process transfer: recipe transfer and qualification from parent line.
• Gather metrology data during tool qualification and ensure film properties meet specs.
• Ensure process matching across fabs and between tools using statistics.
• Set up defense lines to catch and prevent abnormal processing conditions.
• Monitor SPC charts to maintain process performance.
• Respond to process abnormalities with troubleshooting and corrective actions.
• Maintain and regularly update a process reference book.
