Job summary

PTC is seeking a Mill Cutoff Operator (Group 2) in Fairbury, IL to support mill changeovers and process controls. You will monitor tube quality, adjust tooling, lubricate hardware, and assist in training while upholding safety and quality standards.

The role requires physical stamina, the ability to lift up to 100 pounds, and the flexibility to work in hot production environments. This position offers health benefits and opportunities within a manufacturing team.

Responsibilities

• Assist mill operator in mill changeover.
• Monitor tube quality: I.D., O.D., gauge, length and end condition.
• Make adjustments to or replace cutoff tooling as needed.
• Lubricate cutoff, grease bearings, oil gear boxes.
• Assist in eddy current setup and maintenance of painting unit.
• Help mill loader when possible.
• Document weld mill final inspection as needed.
• Aide in training of new employees.
• Maintain plant cleanliness when not directing tasks.
