Job summary

Digital Room in Arlington, TX is hiring a Cutter Machine Operator to manage cutting operations on Polar/Heidelberg systems. You will follow cutting programs, align batches, and monitor speed and accuracy while maintaining safety and logs of production data.

The role requires attention to detail, good communication, and the ability to multitask with changing priorities. Overtime may be required based on business needs.

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience using Polar or Heidelberg cutting machines.
• Ability to measure and count accurately.
• Knowledge of cutting programs on the machine.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication with supervisor and co-workers.
• Ability to safely use hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Access IMS to determine priority jobs and set daily workload.
• Place printed jobs on jogger and align/weight per specs.
• Align batch inside cutter and select cutting program.
• Follow cutting program from largest to smallest measurement.
• Monitor machine during cuts and adjust for specs and speed.
• Troubleshoot problems and notify supervisor/management.
• Replace worn blades with hand tools when required.
• Maintain log books with dates, counts, and sheet data.
• Record production data and report hazards to management.
• Ensure tools and workstation are safe and in good order.

Job description

We are actively hiring for the positions of Cutter Machine Operator for our plant in Arlignton , TX.

Shifts

• 1st shift 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM, Monday - Friday

Duties & Responsibilities

• Access IMS program to determine priority jobs and set workload for the day.
• Place printed jobs on jogger to align and weigh according to job specifications.
• Align prepared batch inside cutter to select cutting program to follow.
• Follow cutting program cutting from biggest measurement to smallest measurement.
• Monitor assigned machine during each cut to ensure adherence to specifications and make adjustments as needed to maintain specifications and operating speed.
• Troubleshoot machine problems, resolve if possible, notifying Bindery Supervisor/Plant Management.
• Replace worn cutting blades with hand tools when required.
• Keep accurate press sheet information in Log Books with dates and counts.
• Record production and operational data, such as amount of materials processed.
• Report any and all workplace hazards to management immediately.
• Ensure all equipment, tools, and work station are in good working order and is free of any safety hazards.
• Must be available for any required overtime based on business needs.
• Must be proactive with completing other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Standing/Walking (at least 75% of shift)
• Lifting up to 50 lb.
• Bending/twisting (at least 50% of shift)
