Job summary

Kloeckner Metals - Americas is seeking a Cut to Length Assistant Operator to support the processing line under supervision. This junior role assists with line setup, loading and packaging, and is trained to work across lines as needed.

The 2nd shift runs 3:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m. Monday-Thursday, with Friday 1:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., and overtime availability. Candidates must meet safety and quality standards and be prepared to learn continuously.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED.
• Computer experience: experience using computers for work or school.
• Physical capability: lift up to 50 pounds.
• Industrial warehouse experience preferred.
• Proficient with basic measurement tools such as tape measures.
• Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Follow safety and operational processes and procedures.
• Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Willingness to learn and train others as needed.
• Pass a physical examination for vision, hearing, and mobility.
• Reliability: Demonstrated reliable work history.
• Attention to detail and quality in all tasks.

Responsibilities

• Setup assistance: Help operators with line and machine setup and production processes
• Product loading: Load products onto the line or machine while adhering to safety and quality standards
• Non-conformance notification: Report any observed non-conformances during processing to the operator
• Setup creation: Assist in the creation and adjustment of setups as required
• Packaging support: Aid in the packaging area as needed
• Cross-training: Support and/or train on other lines or machines to meet business needs
• Computer use: Utilize computer systems to facilitate production tasks
• Additional duties: Perform other related tasks as assigned
