Job summary

Kloeckner Metals Corporation in Memphis, TN seeks a Cut to Length Assistant Operator to support the processing line under supervision. You will assist with line setup, load products, and help ensure safe, efficient production on the floor.

This entry-level role offers on-the-job training, cross-training opportunities on other lines, and participation in safety and quality programs. You will report to the Operations Manager and collaborate with operators and lead staff to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience using computers for work or school.
• Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Prior experience in an industrial warehouse environment preferred.
• Proficient with basic measurement tools such as tape measures.
• Able to read and understand simple instructions, memos, and short correspondence.
• Follow safety and operational processes and procedures.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Willing to learn new skills and train others as needed.
• Ability to pass a physical examination for vision, hearing, and mobility.
• Demonstrated reliable work history.
• Detail-oriented with focus on precision and quality.

Responsibilities

• Setup Assistance: Help operators with line and machine setup and production processes.
• Product Loading: Load products onto the line or machine while adhering to safety and quality standards.
• Non-Conformance Notification: Report any observed non-conformances during processing to the operator.
• Setup Creation: Assist in the creation and adjustment of setups as required.
• Packaging Support: Aid in the packaging area as needed.
• Cross-Training: Support and/or train on other lines or machines to meet business needs.
• Computer Use: Utilize computer systems to facilitate production tasks.
• Additional Duties: Perform other related tasks as assigned.
