Job summary

GPAC in Union County, NJ seeks a seasoned US Customs Entry Writer & Air Import Coordinator. This role offers a hybrid schedule with two days in the office and three days remote, plus a compensation range of $75,000–$90,000 base, health insurance, PTO, holidays and a company match retirement plan.

You will manage ACE entries, coordinate air imports, review documents, and ensure compliance with CBP regulations while delivering exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in a customs house brokerage environment.
• 10+ years of hands-on US Customs entry writing in ACE.
• Strong command of HTS classification, CBP entry types, import procedures and regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and transmit customs entries in ACE from cargo release through entry summary.
• Review invoices, packing lists and bills of lading.
• Verify HTS, country of origin, declared value and duties.
• Ensure every entry meets CBP regulations, entry requirements and deadlines.
• Prepare supporting documents for PGA requirements (FDA, USDA APHIS, EPA, FCC).
• Respond to CBP CF-28 and CF-29 requests.
• Keep accurate records according to US Customs requirements.
• Coordinate air import shipments and work with clients, importers, carriers and others to clear freight on time.

You've written thousands of entries. Now get a schedule that respects that. Most senior entry writers hit the same wall: they're expected in the office five days a week, they cover everyone else's mistakes, and their 10+ years of ACE experience goes unnoticed. This role is different. An established customs brokerage and freight forwarding firm in Union County NJ is hiring a seasoned US Customs Entry Writer & Air Import Coordinator. They want an expert who takes pride in getting it right the first time. You'll be in the office Mondays plus one more day, and you'll work from home the rest of the week.

What You'll Own

• Preparing and transmitting customs entries in ACE, from cargo release through entry summary
• Reviewing commercial invoices, packing lists and bills of lading
• Verifying HTS classification, country of origin, declared value and duties
• Making sure every entry meets CBP regulations, entry requirements and filing deadlines
• Preparing supporting documents for PGA requirements (FDA, USDA APHIS, EPA, FCC)
• Responding to CBP CF-28 and CF-29 requests
• Keeping accurate records according to US Customs requirements
• Coordinating air import shipments, using your knowledge of both air and ocean import procedures
• Working with clients, importers, carriers and other parties to resolve documentation issues and clear freight on time
• Managing multiple entries and deadlines while giving excellent customer service
• Working independently, and with internal teams, to process entries accurately and on time

What You Bring

• 10+ years in a customs house brokerage environment
• 10+ years of hands-on US Customs entry writing in ACE
• Strong command of HTS classification, CBP entry types, import procedures and customs regulations
• Working knowledge of international and domestic freight forwarding
• Familiarity with air and ocean ports and their import documentation requirements
• Sharp attention to detail and the ability to meet strict filing deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong computer skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
• A customer-focused mindset and the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
