Job summary

Mohr Talent in Fair Lawn, NJ is seeking an Entry Writer / Customs Entry Specialist to manage import entries from start to finish in person. You will prepare documentation, review invoices, classify goods, and coordinate with carriers and customers to ensure timely deliveries.

The role emphasizes accuracy, regulatory compliance, and strong communication with internal teams and external partners in a dynamic logistics environment.

Qualifications

• At least one year of freight forwarding, customs clearance, import, or logistics experience preferred.
• Familiarity with customs documentation and import procedures.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Fluent English reading, writing, and speaking skills.
• Bilingual ability in Mandarin, Vietnamese, Korean, or Japanese is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process customs entries and import documentation.
• Clear imported goods through U.S. Customs and facilitate final delivery.
• Review commercial invoices, bills of lading, packing lists, and supporting documents for accuracy.
• Classify goods using the appropriate tariff codes.
• Calculate duties, tariffs, taxes, and other applicable fees.
• Track shipments and provide customers with timely status updates.
• Confirm customs clearance, freight release, and shipment availability.
• Coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, CFS warehouses, truckers, customers, and internal departments.
• Ensure documentation complies with customs regulations and company procedures.
• Maintain accurate shipment records and resolve documentation or clearance issues.
• Develop strong working relationships with customers and logistics partners.
