Customs Compliance Specialist

States (only) for remote work: We are based in MD and SC, but you can live in FL, NJ, PA, NY, NC, GA, or VA (9). Headquarters is Locust Point, Maryland (in Baltimore County).

Next Regulatory Compliance Specialist (LCB)

Will be the internal and external resource for import regulatory issues focused on our customers’ products, with a heavy focus on classifications. You will be knowledgeable about trade laws and regulatory requirements, responsible for educating our customers and internal import teams, and ensuring compliance with CBP regulations (and PGAs).

Typical Duties Include
  • Providing excellent internal and external customer service in an engaging environment.
  • Improving knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations.
  • Internal compliance development and monitoring industry developments.
  • Assisting with training materials, publications, outreach programs, and regulatory sales campaigns.
Responsibilities
  • Review and evaluate customers’ products, providing classification advisories.
  • Monitor AD/CVD developments and communicate timely.
  • Serve as a resource for regulatory scope and information.
  • Conduct regulatory audits.
  • Create and maintain training materials and sales products related to regulatory developments.
  • Educate customers and entry teams on regulatory changes.
  • Contribute to publications and conduct recurrent training as required.
Skills
  • Strong computer and tech skills (Excel, Office, databases).
  • Critical thinking, flexibility, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication with contacts, vendors, and departments.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure, reliable, punctual, organized.
  • Ability to implement and follow SOPs.
Education and Experience
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Customs brokerage and classifications.
  • Licensed Customs Brokers preferred but consider exam takers.
  • Background in Supply Chain Logistics or International Business preferred.
  • Experience with PC, Microsoft Office, databases, vendor systems, PGA, and ADD/CVD.
