Job summary

CEVA Logistics in Los Angeles, CA, seeks a Customs Brokerage Import Supervisor I to oversee daily brokerage operations, ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely import/export clearances. You will supervise staff, enforce CBP regulations, and coordinate with clients, agencies, and internal teams.

The role requires 3–5 years in customs brokerage, leadership abilities, and strong knowledge of HTS classification and regulatory requirements. Hybrid work arrangement with primary in-office duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum 3-5 years of customs brokerage experience.
• Prior supervisory or lead experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily customs brokerage activities, including entry filings, classifications, valuations, and duty payments.
• Ensure timely clearance of shipments while meeting customer service expectations.
• Review and approve customs entries for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure adherence to CBP regulations, FDA, USDA, EPA, and other applicable government agency requirements.
• Stay current on changes in customs laws, trade agreements, tariffs, and compliance standards.
• Support audits, prior disclosures, and internal compliance reviews.
• Train, mentor, and supervise customs brokerage staff.
• Assign workloads, monitor performance, and ensure productivity targets are met.
• Conduct performance evaluations and support employee development.
• Serve as escalation point for complex shipments or compliance issues.
• Communicate with clients regarding customs requirements, delays, or regulatory concerns.
• Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance processes.
• Support implementation of new systems, procedures, or regulatory changes.
• Collaborate with sales, operations, and compliance teams to support business goals.
